Is an appointment required?

Yes.  Blush works with each bride on an appointment only basis to ensure our brides are the center of attention.  Appointments are scheduled in 90-minute increments.  We will do our best to accommodate your timing preferences.  Appointments can be booked through our website or by calling Blush directly.

When should I start dress shopping?

We recommend shopping for your gown 8 to 10 months before your wedding or bridal portraits.  Gowns take a minimum of 18 weeks and up to 6 months from order to arrival.  Once your gown arrives, you should allow 2-3 months for alterations to ensure the perfect fit.  Starting early will save you from added rush fees and unwanted stress.

What if I am getting married in less than 6 months?

If you are working with a shorter timeline, some designers have gowns available with faster shipping times.  In addition, we have a small collection of gowns that can be sold off the rack.

How much are your gowns?

Our gowns range from $900 to $3900, with our widest selection of gowns falling between $1200 and $1700.  The price of gowns does not include additional alterations.

How do you know what size to order?

Once you have found your dress and are ready to place an order, our stylists will take your measurements.  We will refer to our designers’ size charts and order the gown that is closest to your measurements.  Most gowns require additional alterations to ensure a perfect fit.  Alterations are not included in the price of the gown.

Do you offer alterations?

Blush works with local seamstresses who can meet with you at the boutique for your fittings, however, they are independent contractors and we are not responsible for any workmanship or damage done through any outside services.  Payment for alterations go directly to seamstress.  We are happy to recommend the services of other reputable seamstresses in the Hampton Roads area.

What should I bring to an appointment?

A small party – We love seeing brides with a supportive and honest crew.  We recommend limiting your group to only your most trusted friends and family members who understand your personal style and the vision you have for your wedding. Blush can accommodate up to four additional guests comfortably.  Having a large entourage feels crowded and too many opinions can spoil the fun.

Your budget – There is more to the cost of a wedding gown than just the price of the dress.  Keep in mind the cost of alterations and accessories when coming up with your budget.  Nearly all gowns require some sort of alteration, whether it is a hem, taking in the gown or adding a bustle.  We highly recommend not trying on gowns that are too far outside your planned budget.  We’ve seen many brides find the dress of their dreams, only to be disappointed when they can’t afford it.  We do our absolute best to put our brides gowns that are not only comfortable physically, but also financially.

An open mind – We love seeing your Pinterest pages and pictures of your dream dress. We will do our best to help you find the dress you have always envisioned yourself wearing.  However, if this is your first time trying on wedding gowns, we suggest trying on several different styles to find the best fit for your figure.  We’ve seen many brides fall in love with a gown they didn’t think they would want or like.  Our ultimate goal is to help you find the one dress that you love and makes you feel beautiful for your big day.

We love children, however we are unable to comfortably accommodate them in the store at this time.  We request that you find other arrangements for any guests 10 or under.  Please let us know if a conflict arises and we will happily reschedule your appointment.

Please try to wear minimal make up so it does not come off on the gowns.  A strapless bra is recommended – proper undergarments can change the look of a gown.  Shoes are not required as we try on gowns without them.
